The Third Floor Units
The Manwaring includes 21 unique apartments that have been thoughtfully designed around the historic bones of the building.
The one- and two-bedroom apartments are each distinctive, with different layouts and special features. The units have historic hardwood floors, designer stainless steel kitchen appliances, kitchen islands with granite counters and garbage disposals, modern bathroom designs, in-unit washer and dryers, 10+ foot ceilings, and incredible natural light with many offering views from the center of downtown New London.
All of the apartments are spacious, filled with windows, and carefully designed to the highest modern standards. Each bedroom will have two twin beds, two dressers, and two bookshelves. Most kitchens will have countertop seating and each apartment will have a table and seating for four. Living areas will have a two- or three-seat sofa and one or two arm chairs. Desks will not be provided in the apartment units given the ample seating areas provided in the units. Some desks will be provided in the study rooms in the townhouse units. There also may be a community quiet study area in the building (the final designs for the community spaces are still to be determined).
Unit 3A
2 Bedrooms / 2 Bathrooms
A large two-bedroom, two-bathroom unit. One of the bedrooms offers a massive en-suite bathroom. The apartment provides a generous open kitchen and living room that makes this unit special.
Unit 3B
1 Bedroom / 1 Bathroom
An open floor plan and corner windows provide lots of natural light into this well designed one-bedroom apartment. A large bedroom with views of the neighboring church complete the unit.
Unit 3D
1 Bedroom / 1 Bathroom
A clever use of elevation changes and open partitions allows this one-bedroom unit to feel both private and open. A huge walk-in closet / laundry room are luxuries of this unit.
Unit 3E
2 Bedrooms / 2 Bathrooms
This large corner unit has beautiful windows looking over State Street and City Hall with the Thames River in the distance. This two-bed, two-bath apartment extends more than 1,000 square feet with a grand open concept kitchen / dining / living room.
Unit 3F
2 Bedrooms / 2 Bathrooms
The hallmark of this large two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment is the symmetry of the layout: two bedrooms with private en-suite bathrooms extend off of each side of the open kitchen / living room. Three large historic windows fill this apartment with incredible natural light.
Unit 3G
1 Bedroom / 1 Bathroom
A spacious 1 bedroom apartment on the corner of the building features some of the largest windows in the building.
Unit 3H
2 Bedrooms / 2 Bathrooms
Looking out over the back of the building, this is one of the quietest and most private units. A large open concept kitchen and living room complement the two bedrooms and bathrooms. This apartment has two unique architectural accents – a fireplace (not operational) and large floor-to-ceiling frosted glass windows that allow an abundance of natural light into the living area.
